Steve Jobs

My Thought after Reading Steve Jobs’ Commencement Address

Steve Jobs was invited by Stanford University to make a commencement  address to the graduates, Mr. Steve Jobs (Apple’s founder & President)  delivered an inspiring speech in front of the graduates.  How can a dropout  of college student can create such marvelous achievement?  His personal  stories tell us the answer.

In this speech, he told us about three personal stories.  Each story is true  about his actual experience. I was very impressed by his sincerity to share his  experience with the young graduate. His courage led him to disregard a sheet  of academic certificate.  He bravely chased what he was really interested and  he made his interests radiate with the splendid glamour in his future life.

Upon facing the sorrow and distress, he still bravely confronted with his  cancer. He always keeps the positive attitude toward his life upon  encountering any kind of challenge. Even if he had many success, he still held  the humble attitude “The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the  lightness of being a beginner again.”

In his speech, he stressed “Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out  your own inner voice.” And finally he wished the graduate “Stay Hungry. Stay  Foolish.”.  Regardless the ordeals in the process, he makes his dream come  true eventually.

His inspiring speech can give me the encouragement to seek my own  dream no matter what the troubles will be faced in the future.  Let your  courage fly with your dream.

Five good word or sentences I learn
 1.dauntless (adj.) 無畏的
 2.glamour (n.) 魅力
 3.sincerity (n.) 真誠
 4.distress (n.) 悲痛
 5.Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish 求知若渴;大智若愚

My favorite song - Closer

"Closer"
(The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey)

Hey, I was doing just fine before I met you

I drink too much and that's an issue
But I'm OK
Hey, you tell your friends it was nice to meet them
But I hope I never see them
Again
I know it breaks your heart
Moved to the city in a broke-down car
And four years, no calls
Now you're looking pretty in a hotel bar
And I, I, I, I, I can't stop
No, I, I, I, I, I can't stop

So, baby, pull me closer
In the back seat of your Rover
That I know you can't afford
Bite that tattoo on your shoulder
Pull the sheets right off the corner
Of that mattress that you stole
From your roommate back in Boulder
We ain't ever getting older

We ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older

You look as good as the day I met you
I forget just why I left you,
I was insane
Stay and play that Blink-182 song
That we beat to death in Tucson,
OK

I know it breaks your heart
Moved to the city in a broke-down car
And four years, no call
Now I'm looking pretty in a hotel bar
And I, I, I, I, I can't stop
No, I, I, I, I, I can't stop

So, baby, pull me closer
In the back seat of your Rover
That I know you can't afford
Bite that tattoo on your shoulder
Pull the sheets right off the corner
Of that mattress that you stole
From your roommate back in Boulder
We ain't ever getting older

We ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older

So, baby, pull me closer
In the back seat of your Rover
That I know you can't afford
Bite that tattoo on your shoulder
Pull the sheets right off the corner
Of that mattress that you stole
From your roommate back in Boulder
We ain't ever getting older

We ain't ever getting older
No, we ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older
No, we ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older
No, we ain't ever getting older

We ain't ever getting older
No, we ain't ever getting older

Why I like this song? Because I love the DJ music when I go to my friends birthday party at night club. Since that day ,I download a lot of DJ musics.  I must say that DJ music can infect
the whole body and the body will move along with the music, this feeling is awesome.
The Chainsmokers is my favorite DJ grope ,their music style and remix is most unique in the world ,that's why their popularity is so high.
I really look forward to their new song next time and I will keep support them.

6 Minute English -Global warming

Today I choose this episode that concerned about global warming. Do you known how much average temperatures increased in the last hundred years? It's 0.85°C.
Now ,Far more environmental damage than we think. So ,there have lots of way to protect the earth. For example ,an Argentinian company has started collecting cow emissions and converting them into usable energy.
From now on , I will always carry my green tableware to decrease the disposable tableware usage amount.

ESL Podcast 1253 – Using a Ridesharing Service

Today ,I ready this article is mainly talking about ridesharing service. So ,What's ridesharing service? It's to order a limo like taxi, however is cheaper safer than taxi. Because the taxi calculate the cost by distance ,and we only pay a set price which we order.

In Taiwan ,there have some business model like ridesharing service ,but I've never taken. It seems I should try it one time in my whole life.

ESL Pod.com is such a great website to me. Because the content ,the topic ,the material is really suits me. Only the speed is too slow. But overall ,we can find out the editor very hard to manage this website.
